Dr. Patricia Oliver is the Founder and Executive Director of Oliver Behavioral Consultants. She has worked with individuals on the autism spectrum (ASD), their families, and communities for over 19 years. She earned her Doctorate in Exceptional Student Education with an emphasis on ASD and Applied Behavior Analysis, from Florida Atlantic University (FAU), and her Master’s Degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida International University (FIU). She has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2003.
Through her work with individuals with ASD, Dr. Oliver has had the opportunity to design, implement, and monitor behavior intervention programs to meet each individual’s needs. She has worked with early intervention youngsters through most of her career. She has spent a great deal of time on parent training; a piece she considers essential for optimal intervention outcomes. Dr. Oliver’s intervention strategies are soundly rooted in evidence-based practices. She has presented her work at numerous national conferences.
Throughout her University career (2000-2010), Dr. Oliver ran the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities chapter at Florida Atlantic University. Later on, she joined the University of Colorado Denver (UCD) where she developed the initial Behavior Certification Program (BCBA). In 2010, she founded Oliver Behavioral Consultants (OBC). Since then, she has lead an interdisciplinary team of Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Speech and Language Pathologists (SLPs), Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Mental Health Therapists (PhD., LPC) with the goal of providing a strong and collaborative team approach providing comprehensive intervention for children and adults.
A fun fact about Dr. Oliver is that she just loves experimenting with the culinary arts, but she is not a very skilled baker, nor a very artistic plater! If she could eat only one meal for the rest of her life, it would be…pasta!
